December is the winter solstice in the northern hemisphere and the time that the Christians tell us the Lord Jesus Christ was born. Was this truly the time of Jesus’ birth or was this the marking for the return of the Sun (not Son)?
In older times the pagan (rural) people worshiped not only the earth elements but also the sun as gods. The sun brought light and life to the earth and sustained. Without it, all would wither and die. In ancient Egypt there were even cults of sun worship. This is where Ra the sun god came from.
The days after the winter solstice marked the return of the sun. The return of the true lord of earth, the Sun.
Let us celebrate the power of nature, the consciousness of our universe and the blazing sun of light that shines within each of us allowing us to be the gods of our world and the bringers of life and light.
